Not that it makes any difference. I’m unlikely to play cyberpunk again any time soon, and either way, it’s a massive red flag from valve that has destroyed any confidence I had in the future accessibility of my steam library, and destroyed any willingness I had to give valve money in the future.

If they wanted to do it in a useful way, they would also ask my actual legal/medical sex, not just information that is decades out of date. They could also explicitly ask if people are trans or gender diverse, instead of trying to infer it in a way that conflates two distinct groups

The problem is now, they can’t tell trans and intersex folk apart with these questions, and non binary folk are completely invisible.

“Sex assigned at birth”, like that has any fucking relevance to my life. It’s not the sex on my birth certificate. It’s not the sex that aligns with my lived experience, my medical needs, the way the world perceives me etc. It’s irrelevant, and like many trans people, I will just be lying on that question, because my lived experience today is more relevant than out of date information.

That’s exactly where I’m at. I don’t align with a lot of the choices Rimu makes for Piefed, but I am 100% for him designing a tool that works for him, even when the defaults he chooses don’t align with my preferences. As long as I have the option to disable/change them as an admin, then I’d rather see a passionate dev creating tools that they want to use than a burned out dev creating something their heart isn’t invested in.

I’m not “meh” about denouncing bigots. If you’ve supported a bigot and you don’t actively and vocally walk it back, that’s not “meh”. That’s a refusal to acknowledge the issue and the harm done in normalising the voices and visibility of bigots

I’m not in the habit of assuming companies that knowingly supported bigots, the benefit of the doubt. If there isn’t a clear, loud and non ambiguous walking back of their clear, loud and unambiguous support, then why would you, I or anyone else assume they have done so?
