Agreed. The microblogging format is more for one-way communication (i.e. 1 poster to many viewers). Trying to have a discussion or even just reading a discussion on twitter, mastodon, etc. is a terrible experience.

Take the comment you replied to with a grain of salt. IOS and Android are not rolling release unless you use their beta versions, so the analogy is not correct. Ubuntu and its derivatives have slower release cycles in order to ensure they’re stable. But it doesn’t mean packages are “stale”. A rolling release distro will give you bleeding edge updates at the risk of something breaking once in a while. If you work on stuff like music production, you absolutely will be better off with a more stable distro.

You can also hear it, insulated quietness. Like stores that sell fabric, where the outside noise dies down when you enter.

That’s not revolutionary or anything IMO. Yes, powerpoint decks are for presentations, not meetings. At my job, the shared screen in the meeting is usually a confluence page with the agenda or documentation being discussed, and the host typing in the discussion points real time.

Ok I’ve been meaning to ask this in the Space community or the NoStupidQuestions community. I’ve seen this news circling around the past 2 weeks and have been watching videos of people talking about it.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think the gist is that astronomers discovered with the JWST that some galaxies at the end of the observable universe appear to be younger than they are supposed to be. So it kinda blows a hole in the big bang expansion where objects farther away should be older. And that somehow ties in with the theory that our universe is inside a blackhole.

It’s fascinating but I don’t know what to do with that information other than just be fascinated. I think it was Neil deGrasse Tyson who said “what does it matter to us? nothing”, because us being in a blackhole doesn’t change anything in the scale of our universe.

I wonder what will happen if they put that chemical into an insecticide spray.
