Interesting, I have to look into that, I am taking it slow, and will buy storage drives over a few months to spread the cost out, so I have time to think about it

This is one of my favourite styles!
There was a very prolific architect in Sweden back in 1890-1915, who designed several iconic buildings of Stockholm:

He designed these absolutely gorgeous gasometers:
Just look at the drawings!
Here are drawings of other utility buildings at the same gas works also designed by him:
He also designed the fire station in Gävle, which as far as I can see is still in use:

He designed this water tower in Stockholm:

There are plenty of other architects, but I just love that era of Ferdinand’s work…
I am also working on building a new NAS, I didn’t realize it was going to be so damned expensive though…
Currently I am thinking of going for ZFS with six drives, four pure storage, one parity and one hot spare, I would also need another drive as a cold spare…
I am interested in ZFS due to it’s bitrot protection, I have already seen some of my photos affected by bitrot…
I have one deployed project using a raspberry pi.
A water temp meter that reports the water temp at a local swimming hole to a private webpage. Built using a raspberry pi zero w, a timer, an MC battery, a DS18B20 sensor and a bash script running as a service on bootup.
Just started my first vacation week, I’ll be back in the salt mines next week, then I’ll have two weeks off after that, I normally try and get four weeks off in a row during summer (legally employers here in Sweden have to grant you four continous weeks off during summer if you have enough days) but I took an early week off this spring and want to be able to take a week off during christmas as well
So, I am fine I guess…
