Agreed. Sadly there are far too many embellished headlines using words like “Slammed”, “Dragged”, “Clapped Back” etc. to attract clicks.
Good for Victoria. I hope we see more people pushing back on this terribly toxic rhetoric…

I stayed away from articles about this when the news broke. I try to give myself space before reading about serious news. I’m glad I decided to give this article a chance. Thank you, Sunshine.
It’s so hard for me to not have a pessimistic view on the future these days. There has never been a time in my life where I was this happy on the inside but just so devastated about what is happening outside.
Let’s hope this gets proper attention. It’s so important that we continue to have a way to control the representation of ourselves on our own documents.
I checked into this today and the current status is that this version of the bill doesn’t have enough support thank goodness. However neither does the other version of the bill, so ppl still lose this cushion that would have continued to help people pay these health care premiums. It was disgusting to see the Republicans try and pin these things together and I was very apathetic that Democrats would push back on it.
Now we go back to waiting days or weeks for the next attack on gender affirming care on a federal level. They won’t stop trying to take away our ability to safely transition so we have to keep fighting.
Stay safe siblings <3
