A large-scale soft plastics recycling facility at Taree is processing most of Australia’s recycled soft plastics and stockpiled waste from the failed REDcycle scheme.

Processed soft plastic is sent to a range of Australian manufacturers for reuse in a range of products.

Efforts are underway to boost demand for products made with recycled plastic.

    I bought some potatoes and other vegetables at a supermarket today. I didn’t use any kind of bag for any of them. I put them straight from the shelf into the shopping basket, then from the shopping basket into my backpack with everything else. I reckon that’s a good way to do it.

      @blind3rdeye
      We have a bunch of reusable lightweight fabric bags, they’re great for veggie shopping. Actually more convenient than the single use plastic, because they’re easy to open and close, and you can hold a bunch of them by the drawstrings.
