I don’t think I like Albo anymore.
Up until the last election we had a 2 party system. Yes minor parties had influence but government swung between the ALP and LNP.
Now it seems as though, rather than using his majority and mandate for progressive change, Albo has decided to consume the liberal vote by adopting some right leaning behaviors. Inviting that Israeli asshole was a scumbag move. This kind of thing is more of the same.
What I’ve never understood is, don’t they realise those people will never vote for them? The libs will always be the party of the right, it doesn’t matter what labor does or says.
Nah, there’s plenty of liberal voters who will vote for the ALP.
There’s plenty more liberal voters who will not, and will vote for the nationals or PHON, but there’s enough centrists who will vote for the ALP to make this strategy worth while.
That’s what I thought Albo’s strategy was. Make the opposition irrelevent and snatch their voters. He doesn’t seem to make any decisions based on principles. He was campaigning on raising centrelink payments to a dignified level prior to his first term. That never happened.
