Yeah ok I mean that’s literally what’s happening. But is there a joke? Or something unexpected, insightful, thoughtful, humorous, something special or of any significance other than a random statement? What’s sad about it? Why a robot? Why a liebot? Is he lying?
Tbh, I feel like calling this “sad” doesn’t do a good enough job of refuting the underlying misogynist belief (that a woman’s worth is her looks) that the parents have.
This goes right to the top with Liebot

I don’t get it
The little girl is getting kicked out by her parents because she “will never be pretty”, which is all a girl is worth according to misogynist belief.
The punchline is the setup. It’s an anti joke. Perhaps a bad one, even. Quite rare in this joke landscape, I can see why it needs to be preserved

Tbh I still don’t really get it.
It would probably help to read more of the comics since it’s a recurring character.
I see. Thanks
Thank you, my thoughts exactly. Tragic is not exactly the same thing as sad.

Liebot was this vaguely racist Slavic stereotype character that tried to make Phillip (the otter) cry on occasion. This is probably the tamest one.
