TL;DR: Mozilla recently released AI controls for Firefox: a single control panel that lets people disable AI features in the browser or pick and choose which to leave on. On the surface, this sounds like a win for user choice in an era of AI-everything.
Leave the browser for what? I hope you’re not going to mention any Chromium based browser. And if you mention Gecko, guess who develops that. Unless there’s a large group willing to fork and maintain Gecko and hope everyone starts using it or constantly maintains compatibility, it’s not going to go anywhere.
Does it suck? Yes. Does it suck less than Chrome… hell yes.
There are plenty of Firefox forks, some of which remove all this stuff. Maybe Librewolf or Waterfox would be suitable alternatives until we have a usable Servo browser.

I’m not going to recommend shit. Do your own research a choose what’s right for you.
There are plenty out there not trying to fob AI onto you as a way of skirting their own shit decisions.
If you want to suck the teat of new Firefox go ahead.
