    1. It takes the same time to travel 100km in both. Why would you think a truck moves faster. If you mean 1000km, still the same time, because in both cases, the driver needs to take 30mins mandatory rest breaks. However, the EV truck operating cost is 80%+ cheaper (the driver can simply charge the truck during their rest break)
    2. BYD blade batteries charge 400km in 5mins now. Basically, the same as a car… You’re absolutely deluded if you don’t think that won’t be a lot faster in 5 years (which fyi, isn’t a lifetime)… And, the cost per km is barely anything, vs a big chunk of money that goes straight to petrol companies
    3. A tesla Semi can charge 500km in 30mins and has 800km range. Truck drivers have mandatory rest breaks… Truckies are only allowed to work 12 hours a day. And, they require 60mins of rest within the first 11 hours. So, thats 1300km of charge in a day, that can happen whilst they’re resting… Very Achievable, and the fuel costs mostly nothing… Whereas, the cost for diesel fuel is un-competitive, even if the driver fucked around for an extra hour a day.
    4. In china, they already have battery swap stations. They take 3 mins… We don’t have them here yet, but, we likely will eventually. It would be expected that similar technologies could be adapted for farms. However, the real point is, that Tesla Semi’s could take 5 mins, and cost barely anything to charge 800km (so, 1x5min stop at a battery station a day)
    5. For courier companies, most couriers actually return to the depot multiple times a day, the vans don’t magically load themselves, and they need food too…
    6. EV are 80%+ cheaper PER KM to operate. Diesel is substantially worse now, and every year, batteries are getting CHEAPER. Diesel is getting MORE EXPENSIVE!
    7. Again, 300 mining trucks have been ordered by Fortescue… I’m sure they’ve done the maths

    You must be living in la la land, where diesel only costs 30c still, and Truck drivers drive 18hrs / 2000km a day lol. Also, on planet freedomadvocate, solar doesn’t exist and EV batteries need replacement every year lol.

    I’m guessing you’d be the guy onsite with the electric drill who spends 3 hours a day waiting in front of a makita charger, instead of having 2 sets of batteries and charging overnight or/and during lunch breaks lol

    Such a silly argument… i suggest you actually go do your research. I’m not responding again (as you’re clearly don’t realise that EV’s charge overnight, and start the day fresh at 100%). They’re not suitable for 100% of applications, but almost all of them
