But there’s an episode where the protagonists are discussing it and how difficult it would have been to pull off, a town gossip hears half a sentence out of context and tells everyone what he’d heard as if it was something true, which kind of implies that the whole thing probably got built up that way.
It’s a pretty funny show and it’s great at building inside jokes like that.
