Major gambling companies won $5 billion from Australian punters in 2023-24, yet told the Australian Taxation Office that they made next-to-no profit, according to New research released by The Australia Institute today.

    The vast bulk of this money goes to the horse racing industry, not to little leagues and community sport.

    Ive got very mixed feelings about gambling $ going to little leagues and community sport. How about just taxing them & funding sport with that?
