    I’m glad Assange is back. His voice and ideas remain relevant.

    I’m not glad he’s on Xitter. The sooner everyone everywhere stops doing anything there, stops posting or paying any undue attention to it, the better.

    I wish he wasn’t. No matter what, he is bad for getting any good policy moved forward. Half the world don’t trust him, or hate him, the other half put him on this pedestal as a paragon of virtue and bravery. There is nothing in his reputation, or his leadership, that gives me confidence he could bring people together like we need.

    If he wants to help, he should go find a backroom somewhere, knuckle down, and help someone he respects lead change and make a difference from there.

      And that’s the power of being able to control the flow of information, isn’t it? All of us have heard heaps of news and stories about Assange, but very little of it has been from him directly. You’re right that people don’t really trust him. I don’t really trust him either - but quite likely that’s due to deliberate years-long efforts to discredit him. Sow doubt and ambivalence, and people just fade away.

        Yeah, for sure, absolutely. Just got finished listening to Barry’s Economics here - spotify who was speaking about a persons inner workings of this process.

        He talked about how we have set aside parts of our brain for famous people and have built this narrative picture around them that doesn’t necessarily match the person themselves very well, hence the oft stated deflation upon meeting a personal ‘hero’.

        Maybe this time Assange won’t sift through thousands of hours of video to find the one that suits his narrative

        And maybe this time Assange will release some damning files about Russia and Iran and Hamas.

          You do realise Wikileaks has been operating while he was incarcerated for about 13 years?

          It’s not just Assange releasing information, it’s Wikileaks. You want damning files on Russia, Iran and Hamas. We already get that sort of information from mainstream media. Why would Wikileaks need to release such info? And btw, in the past Wikileaks has released info on Iran’s role in the Iraq war and about Hamas and Fatah.
