Was wondering why “ads” was quoted. I guess because it’s their own products and services?
The ‘ads’ in question appear in the Settings app in iOS. They can be found near the top of the iPhone’s display and promote several products to the user, including paid-for iCloud+ storage, free trials for services like Apple Music and Apple TV, and the AppleCare+ extended warranty.
These ads have been there for a very long time now.
Xiaomi allows to unlock the bootloader and then you can install a free Android. Depends on model, of course. Also requires account at Xiaomi, installing some Windows software and waiting 144 hours for the unlock to take effect.
Actually no, it’s much more onerous than that. They have a GLOBAL CAP on number of phones that can be unlocked in a day that is exhausted in about 2 seconds, and you must try your luck at 0:00 Beijng time everyday. Don’t buy xiaomi if you want unlocking.
So Xiaomi doesn’t allow unlocking bootloaders either, effectively.
Bootloaders should just be unlockable with a simple adb/fastboot command again.
I bought a Xiami phone a couple months ago and this shit have ads in sone apps like the file explorer and others like that. Thankfully is still not closed to install my own apps and replace all that ad infested apps with f-droid alternatives.
