      She was 52 years old when she donated a kidney to him. It’s been 48 years since the transplant, he’s still alive, and the organ has not failed. He hasn’t been alive 100 years but that kidney has been.

      His mom was probably 30 or 40 years old when she donated her kidney. And now he’s 60 to 70. So that’s where the 100 years comes from.

      If she’d be 100 by now then the kidney is too. She was 52 at transplantation in 1978.

      a kidney being 100 is nothing new as people age over 100 regularly. I guess its some combination of bio age, transplantation age which marks the record?
