USA merely operates on “lesser evil” framework. And up until recently, USA has been secular, but democratic? Hardly to begin with. Just ask black Americans, Native Americans, Filipinos, Vietnamese, Iraqis and Latin Americans. The US ignored the UN resolutions many times, especially on not invading Iraq under false pretense of hiding weapons of mass destruction. So, USA has always been a terrorist state but in different name and face. I would go so far as to say that Trump took off the facade of the country as the shining beacon on the hill. After all, American people had been demanding for authenticity.
