    Yeh no shit.

Anyone with half a brain could see the removal of 1.5% of a price tag. Doesn’t equal an increase of 5%+ on that same price tag.

But the Murdoch press, Libs, and anyone else hating on Labor decided it was a good enough reason to cry.

It’s a fucking disgrace watching - yet again - the anti positive narrative been fed, and swallowed, by a population that forgets what eight years under those same Libs got us.

But it’s always the same. Libs fuck what Labor fixes. And on we go.

And watching those same libs in parliament. Blaming inflation on Labor is ludicrous.

I actually feel sorry for Chalmers at the moment. He’s doing good work. But the fucking seppo wanker completely fucked it up for him. Who could have actually seen an attack on Iran happening the way it did. Or the subsequent world inflation problem caused by the lack of oil supply? I idly wonder how much better the Libs would have done if they were the ones in the hot seat?

Yep, my coffee shop got rid of the 7c surcharge and upped the price of a latte by 30c. Found a new coffee shop. It’s not like they’re unique.

50c here after dropping the surcharge.

I’m in the process of changing banks, going through old statements I noticed I was paying $1 less last October.

In fairness, that was $5 in 2025 and probably the cheapest in town. But $6 a cup comes out at around $1,500 per year and I’m questioning the value in that.

Tried my local cafe a month back. $7 hot chocolate. Didn’t have luck seeing someone to strike up a conversation with, everyone looked stressed.

Meanwhile at where I volunteer: free hot chocolate, free tea, free instant if that’s your thing. And nice people to chat to. (Actually I think I bought the last bottle of milk, but that’s still only $3ish).

Maybe I have to be more picky about the cafe or time of day?

What’s the issue? Businesses get to set their own prices based on what the market will bear not what it costs. If they charge too much then people won’t buy. Basic economics.

And? It’s shit, it’s inflationary, it should be called out as bullshit if the business is stating it’s increased due to the card surcharge… ain’t anyone raising a coffee/drink by 6c
