Well why don’t we just get together and throw her around, smother her into a pillow and kick her along the floor. Absolute piece of shit.

Kids are hard but they’re not malicious when doing it they are just tiny stupid people, who deserve to be treated as people, educated and kept safe.

It seems that both ends of the care industry, the very young and the very old, the most vulnerable stages of life, are mostly run by for-profits, some (or many) of which are there for the business and their shareholders aren’t going to ask inconvenient questions if the profits are dandy. Capitalism getting more and more insane, or perhaps we didn’t have CCTV before and we didn’t know what some care staff were getting up to because of rapacious business models.

This federal government has done more than others to address the issues, but so much more needs to be done. Such a strong reliance on privately-run childcare ‘chains’ and such a hit-and-miss regulatory framework that doesn’t cover all centres is a recipe for exploitation and poor conduct and it’s the most defenceless that pay the price.

Parents have to organise as if they were unions and demand a high level of standards for all early learning centres. They pay for these services. They have every right.

Ling joined NPA in 2022 as a casual cleaner, then cook and was moved into the baby room as an educator in July 2024. She had not completed basic childcare qualifications.

Ling was also well connected within NPA. She was living with Josie Nona, the woman overseeing the organisation’s four childcare services in the region, when she was promoted to the baby room.

Josie Nona’s mother sits on the NPA board and they are related to the CEO. The NPA’s chair is Josie’s cousin, Ugari Nona.

Because despite being completely unqualified she knew the right people.

They did, spoke up but the director ignored it. It was not till a fill in director was there did some staff feel safe to say something. She seems to have reported it.

The investigation should be looking at everyone up that chain.
