Getting TV involved might be helpful because you can show what volunteers do and their enthusiasm and what would be lost if the vessel was skuttled.
I don’t know anything about this field so please forgive me if my suggestions/questions sound off-the-wall. One such thought is trying to get some rich yacht club involved in fund raising to do the necessary repairs.
I believe one of the charity board did an interview with ABC radio, but I can’t find anything about it online :| I will ask around.
