40% of Mormon missionaries leave their church after their missions.
Don’t turn them away. Talk to them with kindness and compassion, and understand that they grew up as victims of a cult. Show them there is so much more to the world than the what the LDS church tells them.
Unironically, this is the way.
The main point of the missions is not to proselytize, but to remove these children from their families while finalizing the brainwashing into the cult. There is an effect where being yelled at/denied/turned away makes them feel persecuted for their faith and solidifies their need to belong to the group.
I’ve had 3 separate residences where I was added to a “do not knock” list for this.
I was raised by a priest in a progressive church and I am fairly well versed in theology AND much of the apologist arguments from both sides.
You can “listen them to your point”, they’re eager to discuss.
You fool, now the bison have started to go door-to-door
Unrealistic, they only come in pairs of two
Sounds like a problem that would take care of itself, if they think it’s a good idea to pet a wild animal of monstrous size, then by all means let them.
I say we speed up the process and release a 37 part TikTok series on the health benefits of Geyser bathing.
