    Spain being a guaranteed finalist and a large financial supporter of Eurovision gives this a lot of weight

    At the end of the day, the only thing people truly care about is money. Losing a major donor is likely not an option for Eurovision

      Wait guaranteed finalist? That’s how that thing works? Like I’ve seen the clips of individual performances but I’ve never watched the whole thing, they have preset finalists?

        From their website:
        There shall be six guaranteed places therein, i.e. one for the producing organization, i.e. the Member which has won the preceding edition (the “Host Broadcaster”), and the five Members from France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom (the “Big 5”).

            It’s a great show and those who finance it have a spot in the main event.

            If you think the competition part is very important you don’t understand it.
