Unfortunately Signal has less features, is less convenient, not as pretty and generally unliked by people who don’t care that much about privacy, which means it will never gather the critical mass to be able to move completely to it. All my contacts use WhatsApp, it’s basically impossible to escape.

Unfortunately, we’re cyberpunk futuristic instead of whatever futuristic flavor the Jetsons were doing.

This sounds like a dream come true, but I’m worried it’s not going to be legal in many places because of the potential eye damage.
