From looking online it seems people are migrating to Grimmory: https://github.com/grimmory-tools/grimmory
Not sure how trustworthy this fork is though.

6·6 months agoArch does the same thing. It allows you to only install the firmware packages you need on your system.
1·7 months agoIt’s worth mentioning that it doesn’t support voice calls though.
Proton won’t help in this case with games such as Doom as they use Vulkan directly.
