I’m sure it’s possible to get it to work, but all I found the one time I tried to set it up was solutions that completely replace my existing keyboard, which is an issue because I use a custom layout. I tried making something work but only succeeded in somehow breaking everything (I forgot how I fixed it but I eventually did)

I am nervous walking in the dark by myself. I simultaneously am relatively tall and will be perceived as male by anyone, so I also try to be wary of how I might make anyone else nervous.

The actual experience that most women have of smaller aggressions even in safer contexts probably also plays a role. I’m probably nervous walking alone at night because of a combination of being physically quite weak in spite of my looks, having experienced bullying throughout my childhood so “unpleasant random encounters” is a concept engraved into my brain, and because I’m affected by reading/hearing about any kind of assault happening to people walking alone.

Replace the bullying with “random men being assholes/threatening/worse” and most women have all 3 of those factors as well.

Many herbivore species are also opporturnistic omnivores, so it could be argued just as much that it’s about biological specialization.

Powershell is nice for scripting things close to the (windows) OS. But (granted I’m not exactly some PS wizard, I’ve just used it a few times for minor things at work) I agree it often feels unnecessarily verbose and cumbersome. For example the fact that you need to define a whole function to alias even just a single command with parameters. And just overall I find it very hard to read (though maybe that’s on the guy that did the powershell stuff before me, I don’t have great sample size here).

But I’ll take what I can get.

The order thing is very debatable tbh, I generally agree that going in origin culture order is better (easier to keep consistent imo), but there are at least a lot of japanese artists that swap the name order when romanized. (And I don’t think I’d care if someone swapped my name order when speaking chinese).

Missing the “Sau” (no idea if Sau Lan is one name romanized as two words or two names) feels like a product of ignorance and pretty disrespectful though, yea.

Yes and no. Yes, they compete with the other ones and due to domestication have very high population, but also the same factors endangering honey bees (insecticides, monocultures) also endanger other bee species. So while “give the honey bees more sugar water so they survive” would be horrible foe ecological diversity, actually adressing the underlying factors would largely also benefit other species.

I wouldn’t even be surprised if to some degree that still applied to places where they’re invasive tbh
