I think a reverse filter would only let large particles through while retaining the ones to small to pass through it.
Several weeks. Usually I shower before leaving the house so when I was too depressed and anxious to leave the house I felt no reason to take one. But I don’t shower as much as most people in general. Once a week maybe unless I’m sweaty or dirty. I also brush my teeth inconsistently. But I’ve never had a cavity, fungal infection or anything else hygiene related anywhere on my body. I also don’t stink in case you’re wondering 😅 I disinfect my pits and use deodorant daily, I always check myself and my clothes and I also ask friends sometimes to be sure.
I’m also struggling a lot with that. I’ve found that doing a little each day gets the job done eventually. Idk about you, I kinda have the energy to keep an apartment clean but not always to get it clean when it’s already feral. So if it’s gotten to that point I just try to clean a mess and a half for every mess I make.
I also used to tell myself it’s because of my parents. Which is true but they’re not gonna swing by and sweep the floor. It genuinely only takes a few tries to learn how to clean effectively as an adult and there are tutorials on youtube. And it does get much easier once you don’t have to think about every step.
Yeah absolutely. I’m not religious per se but vaguely spiritual and I get along fine with religious people as long as they don’t force it on others. In fact I like hearing about other perspectives so it could even be something drawing me in.
I use Lemmy and Bluesky since I’m banned on Reddit and it’s no longer worth bothering with ban evasion. I’m also testing Mastodon through Pachli because Bluesky has kinda started going on my nerves with all the luke warm “Dems need to save the US” takes. I wisth there was a federated platform for short form vertical videos like tiktok. It’s probably not feasible as a non profit project but something inside of me is still chasing the high of early pandemic social media.
More like 100
Yup
Guys I cheated on my alexa with the vacuum cleaner 😞
I can give you the next best thing. This video explains various aspects that need to be considered with microplastics. It’s mostly an interview with Spanish scientist Joaquim Rovira sharing his findings with what’s usually a cooking channel. He has also published several papers on the topic. Him and his peers are a good place to start if you want the latest findings.
We still don’t know if there are any serious health effects from them
That’s no longer entirely true. They can cause inflamation and cancer for example and that’s been proven well beyond “potentially”.
Even then the focus really should be environmental purification and water treatment.
I think both is important. Getting rid of all the microplastics in the environment isn’t possible with current tech and if it ever is it’ll still be an extremely slow process. Plus there are people who are exposed to large doses of microplastics due to their work or the location of their home and for those it could be especially beneficial to get that stuff filtered out.
That’s how people frame it here to. “Why would I want to go to that 3rd world country anyway.” Personally I think it sucks. Like yeah there’s a lot of valid criticism regarding the US, even before factoring in the current regime situation. But feelings aside it’s a vast and diverse country with a lot of beautiful nature and interesting history (despite what people say) and I’d really like to go some day. Especially Washington, California, Colorado, Texas and Louisiana all fascinate me in unique ways. Alas, it’ll be some years before thinking about that vacation makes sense again.
Or, as I’ve taken to calling them, GNU plus Gumanities.
