  • What are the chances that visiting Steven Hawking is the most interesting/fun thing you can do, if you could freely time travel?

Not only that, apparently the machine he used to speak was rather difficult to use quickly, and drafting responses could take hours or days depending on how much needed said. Pretty much all of his appearances after he was unable to use his voice were heavily scripted ahead of time.

So unless you’re visiting Steven Hawking when he still could talk, it’d be pretty boring as you couldn’t have a proper back-and-forth conversation

  • I’m kinda surprised that him proposing that the US should throw Ukraine to the wolves (Russia) didn’t completely tank his career. In hindsight, for the past 20 years he’s kinda just turned into a tankie (or at least tankie-adjacent) due the the US’s misdeeds in Vietnam, Cambodia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.

While the US has done wrong, that doesn’t automatically make its adversaries right.

  • “Compatible” is not the word to use here. If you have Intel or Nvidia hardware you’re going to have tons of issues. Especially with Nvidia graphics cards where you generally don’t get a display at all.

Hell, I have an all-AMD system and I would likely have issues as well, since SteamOS doesn’t support GPU’s newer the the RX7000 series, and I have an RX9070XT.

If you’re going to insist on putting a label on the SteamOS install file, it’s “unofficially available for technical support”. Anything suggesting more than that is dishonest

  • It’s “available” in that you can get the ISO to re-install SteamOS on your Steam Deck in case you decided to try running Windows or your install got corrupted.

SteamOS as it is right now only works on an all-AMD setup, and there’s still issues with it if it’s installed on anything but the 3 devices that are officially supported at the moment

  • On the plus side, we live at a time where we can still observe the cosmic microwave background radiation and total solar eclipses.

Since the moon’s orbit grows by 3" every year, after a few million years it’ll be far enough away that it won’t completely eclipse the sun anymore.

And in a billion year’s time, the CMB will be redshifted so far into deep radio wavelengths that it’ll be impossible to observe

  • Notice the exception is written very specifically just to keep pluto from “clearing” is orbit.

There are tons of other Kuiper Belt objects in Pluto’s orbit. This wasn’t an exception written to spite Pluto. If you can attribute any malice to the definition, it comes from not wanting to include Eris, Sedna, Makemake, Quorua, and 200+ other Kuiper Belt objects as planets. Pluto was just caught in the crossfire because it fits with the other Kuiper Belt objects because it is one.

“orbit the Sun”. Not a star but very specifically the Sun.

This is a level of knitpicking that is completely childish. Grow up.
