Emphasis mine. Mate, just what are you doing? A subscription license of a mobile OS? Wat? They could be working together with Purism, Pine64, PostMarketOS and other software+hardware groups trying to make linux phones popular, but instead they are making some proprietary stuff in their corner. Is it really that difficult to work with other people or what’s going on?
onlinepersona@programming.devto Linux@lemmy.ml•What about a linux phone that has a full Android OS sleeping in parallel? Like OnePlus Watch 2 that runs 2 OSs at the same time.English0·1 year agoThat already exists with waydroid. It’s what people use on the Librem 5 and PinePhone to run linux apps. It would save much more battery if it were at OS level, but I assume that would be akin to merging Android and mobile linux distros and a lot more work.
Why do you have the impression that waydroid has a “you must be a hacker” issue?

Glad that the mobile environment will resemble the desktop environment. Makes it easier to do cross-platform stuff.
It’ll be safe to host without extra software in front of it to make it read-only
