I think that our numbers would look pretty good. There’s just the Muslim knife attack at the supermarket a few years ago and the occasional case of an Asian killing another Asian and stuffing the body into a suitcase. On the other hand, every few months in the UK or Europe somebody is stabbed by an immigrant or ran over in an ISIS inspired vehicle attack. In New Zealand we don’t seem to have these issues. I’m more worried about being killed by a drunk driver.

Trump’s reaction to this shooting is understandable. The American wars have an unusual feature - we bomb people and make them hate us, and then we invite them to live with us in our countries. This is obviously a huge mistake. These Afghans work for the CIA and special forces then massacre their ‘employers’ at the least predictable moment. A common feature of the occupation which is often forgotten.

I don’t own one, I’ve just leased one from Zilch.nz and I think it’s a great car. Put it on sports mode and set regen braking to level 2 and it’s perfect. My brother has a Tesla and he says he doesn’t like the Ioniq, but I didn’t ask for his reasons 🤔

Ioniq just looks like a normal car whereas Tesla tries to look cool.

I have a friend of a friend who converted a moped into an ev moped and it caught fire while he was riding it. Cheap battery! He burned his hand and watched his $5000 project up in flames while he waited for the fire truck.

I worked in a hardware store 5 years ago and they banned e-scooters from the store because of flammable chemicals. The e-scooters couldn’t be stored anywhere on site. Only in the boot of a coworkers car on the road.

I don’t think TOP had great ideas, otherwise they’d have got more of the youth vote. I just want to get a decent quality rental that has privacy, and which doesn’t get either too hot or too cold. Can’t be that bloody hard, but everyone seems to tread carefully around landlords.

Raf Manji really screwed up by proposing to land tax empty sections - but only in the CBD. He would’ve got my vote if he included empty land in some suburbs like Riccarton. There’s a partially demolished home on Ilam Road near the Adventist church and it’s been that way for 3 years. All windows smashed and boarded up, rubbish and old tyres all over the section. Just down the road from uni and it looks nasty.

On reddit, Top voters panicked because they thought that nobody outside of reddit knew about the party. They were very open about this. Great advertising! Imagine meeting “FreshAnus” and his mate “SeyGecksFuttBucker” at a campaign rally and suddenly becoming a Top supporter.

Even $300,000 fines won’t deter psychopaths. How much money do the managers have to pay personally? They should be banned from managing a business for 5 years. If someone abuses animals they can be banned from owning pets, so why do bad employers get the right to continue managing staff?

I didn’t even know about the first case until last week. People need to stand up for themselves because many of these deaths are preventable. Stupid thing is, the previous fines probably had no effect. And this was after the pike river law when fines became larger.

You get it. Once I worked in a place where staff would be browsing Tinder on the job at 9am on a Sunday. They talked enthusiastically about prostitution, drugs and pornography. If I ever have to deal with this again in warehousing, then my forks are going straight through the first asshole I see. That’s half of why I’m out of work lol. The amount of punks and assholes is astounding in logistics jobs. I don’t even want to work in that field again.

I worked my ass off in a hardware store until I almost had psychosis. I resigned after a very long customer complaint that was made by a psycho customer who gaslit me from the moment he arrived. He complained that I looked tired - no shit, as I had been working in 30 degree heat wearing steel caps all summer. We aren’t allowed to sit or stand idle. There’s only 3-4 staff in the drive-thru most of the time and we really needed one more guy, but the owners are delusional boomers who don’t care.

The good thing: if you’re buying h1.2 treated pink dye timber, find a new staff member before he burns out. Ask him to cut the timber to 2.4 metres. This timber costs about $40 a metre so you can save a few bucks on each length by having it cut down to 2.4 metres. After all, rafters are always 2.4 and you’re going to cut off the excess anyway. Why not get the staff to cut it down for you and avoid paying the extra 600 millimetres? They burn though staff so fast that there’s always at least 1 guy who doesn’t know about this trick.

I’m constantly on the road. Free meals with family and laundry runs and escaping my overheating flat. I’ll be driving every day this summer just to get to other people’s houses that actually have air con and shade. All this petrol, on the bene, thanks Lux-o-flux! It costs me $50 petrol every 2-3 weeks but if I had an apartment with a clean, tidy kitchen, plus a laundry, then I wouldn’t need to travel so often.

I don’t see any major issues with BSA at the moment but knowing what OFCOM is like it’s just a matter of time until BSA start taking off air things the government doesn’t like.
