Our room overlooked the Canyon. We watched condors fly by our window. Spectacular.

Look I know this is only tangentially related, but here is geology Professor Nick Zentner at Washington State University presenting glacial ice floods that shaped much of the canyons that we still see today in a scientifically legit 3D animation, I highly recommend to check it out.
