    This one looks like it was just having a rest under there, but if you find a turtle/tortoise in the road and want to move him to safety, be careful to take him in the direction he was already facing. He is on a mission to get laid and if you try to send him another way he will go back and try to cross the road again.

      I found one of these little dudes trucking across my yard yesterday. By the time I grabbed my phone to take a picture, this is what I found. Now I know why he was in such a hurry.

    Is this a tortoise or a turtle? I think as a child I may have unwittingly drowned a tortoise :(

      Looks like a box turtle to me, so if you put him in a stream or pond he could swim to shore, have a nice little soak, poop in the water and climb out.
