I personally feel like this has always been the case, the scary part is the increased vehemence of the hate-adled minority over the past 5-10 years.
This is a major reason I refuse to watch broadcast TV especially anytime near election cycles. The number of absolute garbage attack ads against us is enraging and I refuse to let them get me upset. And because these TV channels only care about the money they are getting and could care less if the content is complete misinformation, I refuse to watch the rest of the year as well. Freedom of speech should not be an unregulated engine for hatred but that is what we have I guess.
Does she not see she’s in a position of massive privilege? Does she not know that the oligarchs don’t give a fuck beyond their own optics? That the majority of them don’t believe the shit they’re peddling, but the rest of us have to deal with their fucking propagandized base.

I think it is true, I saw a statistic recently that did show the majority of people are supportive or at least neutral. It’s just that the most awful people are also often the loud ones with lots of money to spend on propaganda against us, so it feels like there’s more of them in comparison to the quiet majority.
Choosing neutral is supporting the opposition. You either support freedom of autonomy or not. :(
I think the line being drawn is kind of arbitrary and so recognizing someone as your enemy or not based on it is not helpful. What even is “neutral” in this context? Speaking out publically in support? Doing so but not seeking out the opportunity? Doing so but only privately? Refusing to engage in discussions but holding trans-positive views? Not knowing about trans issues? Not caring about them? Voting against trans interests because of a politicians views about other subjects? Holding personal distaste but not voting against trans interests? There’s a line somewhere there but I think ignoring the spectrum of support or harm someone can provide in favor of a simple binary is not wise.
Maybe not exactly; the statistic I saw was regarding people’s feelings/emotions towards trans people, not their political positions etc specifically. Someone who feels neutrally about you isn’t automatically going to support those who want to hurt you.
People will say they support us while actively having transphobic beliefs. People in general are uneducated at best propagandized at worst. True allies are rare as fuck.
