“I can tell them, as someone who is trans and who every single day spends my day talking with people across the political and ideological divide, I can tell you that most people are good and decent and kind, and we are not as divided as the algorithms make it seem,” she said.
Data released by the Human Rights Campaign corroborates that statement. It found 85% of Americans think trans people deserve the same rights and protections as everyone else.



Maybe not exactly; the statistic I saw was regarding people’s feelings/emotions towards trans people, not their political positions etc specifically. Someone who feels neutrally about you isn’t automatically going to support those who want to hurt you.
People will say they support us while actively having transphobic beliefs. People in general are uneducated at best propagandized at worst. True allies are rare as fuck.
