There is no greater treachery than this failure to face up to the climate crisis. How can we now fend off despair?

      I agree. I also believe that younger people must get louder and focused on letting the political class know they’ve had enough of the crap that is going to make their future much more difficult (as well as the rest of the world’s). They are too polite, imv.

      A short while ago I saw some news from France where High School students are rioting because of the decaying state of their education system and facilities. While I wouldn’t want young people to get so violent here, kids have a right to demand their country’s leaders (especially in a rich country like Australia) stop playing with their lives and that of even younger children for the sake of heartless and ruthless pragmatism.

        I suggest young people enter politics, stand for election, join political parties, become more than protestors , participate in government at all levels

          Left-wing parties are a safer bet but a lot of young people think the whole political system is compromised. Look for example at LEAN, the environment group in Labor. Their position is sidelined by the party bosses.
