Guy thinks being the CEO of a company that does research is the same thing as doing the research itself. He is not even the last corresponding author (that is where PIs in natural sciences almost always put their names), he had to put him self as both the first author and the corresponding author. It must suck to work for him.

Assuming that you are not arguing in bad faith and not full of bs, you can not defeat a fascist dictatorship while trying to wash away the murder and blood of another one. Unless tolerance for fascist dictatorships are completely eradicated from the world, there will always be a next one waiting to prey on weaker countries.
But I don’t have much faith for a discussion with you. Given that you equate criticism of Israel with support of Hamas or not caring for Sudanese genocide, I am almost 100% sure you are discussing in bad faith. If you really cared about Ukraine or Sudan, you would also care about the same terror being forced onto Palestinian children and civilians.
I think we are strongly geared towards survival with lots of cost cutting measures. Going with the option that best suits our mental state is probably a side effect of that.
Yea agreed. When shitty science is given as a reference then it becomes much harder to critically judge something but at least it is not a huge amount of work to see that there is conflicting scientific data on a topic. It is a huge effort to try to gauge which one is more credible. And it does not even have to be agenda driven. It can just be bad science, science driven by strong priors. Then you really have to be an expert on the topic to be able to spot the weaknesses in that study. Luckily however most outrageously stupid statements made by politicians/billionaires and a huge body of online disinformation content don’t even refer to existing science (if it doesn’t give any references to scientific statements, assume it does not exist or ask for links) and are easy to pick apart by realizing the blatant contradictions in their statements.
if you get too close, they will poke you with tiny bee spears too
the problem is that critical thinking should be a reflex and not a mental effort

Lol seems to me the guy produced just a bunch of random bullshit to see if any of it sticks. Although to be fair medicine around 1800s was probably mostly bullshit.
wow and in Germany too. You would think a good level of nation-wide education would solve such problems. seems like not.

Yea starts waning after a year but there is a phenomenon called back boost is that if you get reinfected a year later with another variant, this still boosts antibodies to the variant of previous infections/vaccs. I suspect she might not have conditioned to select individuals with no recent infections. Also happens in regular vaccines (maybe less in magnitude than mRNA, that I don’t know). Without this memory we would be toast and this lady does not even know this or does not know statistics. I hope she is not in some serious capacity for making healthcare decisions.
I somehow suspect she is not even using data conditioned by infection history and looking at a mix including individuals that might be recently infected with covid.
