It feels more like Quake, but with less guns.
Still lots of fun, and maps go from neat arenas to absolute bonker creations. One of them is a soccer field… pure bloodbath that one. Another has one gigantic tower, one team spawns up, other down… It has a lot to offer.
Sure, Anglerfish can’t fly, it’s such a downgrade from reindeers, the best aviators nature produced.
I’ve had a blast with AssaultCube couple of years back.
Spun up a server, played with some friends, then random people started showing up and we played with full server for hours.
It was so much fun, I hope I find free time to do that again.

I have a Matrix server with Jitsi installed, works for gaming and everything else.
Also, some older games (like Warcraft 3) require L2 connections to play multiplayer, which I managed to get working with OpenVPN, for both Linux and Windows players.

Majority of software is packaged natively.
I have not used PowerShell that much, because I’m so used to bash that it felt foreign.
There are other shells you can try, more modern, perhaps they will be more to your liking.
After learning too much about Linux it’s impossible for me to use Windows.
It hurts me at every step, making me question my life and everyones sanity who handles that stuff.
It’s very very bad and nobody will pry Gentoo from my hands.
