I really love how there’s one conservative going through the comments and ascribing a solitary downvote to any mention of conservative values, like trucks, crosses, Cybertrucks (cause it’s super specific) and the like.

Yeah, I find that shit offensive. It should be a private matter. Just being comfortable allowing it to be seen, even if you aren’t outgoing about it, tells me we aren’t compatible. I’ll still treat you with respect, but I know we are very different people.

Now, if you’re the kind of asshole who will ring my doorbell about it, I will tell you to “get fucked,” and close the door. The sheer arrogance is astounding.

I keep reading about how Russia’s economy is on the brink of collapse just like how I keep reading about how Trump’s voters are turning on him. I believe that both are (somewhat) true, but I don’t think anything will come from either one.

I’m just spitballing, but could we cut services that help people to pay for this bullshit? Like, maybe everything good that my taxes pay for could be re-routed to hurting people? I dunno, just a thought. /s

The ad industry is parasitic. I have avoided ads since they first hit the web. Initially, I would not visit or remain on any web page with an ad. When that became untenable, I installed ad blockers. I presently download YT videos to view locally to avoid ads. When that stops working, I will stop watching YT videos.

I pay to skip ads on podcasts if I like and enjoy the content. I skip them on the ones I don’t pay for. If the ad model is particularly obnoxious and I don’t like a show enough to pay, I stop listening.

EFF has been fighting the good fight for decades. I signed up for their newsletter in the 90s when I was a teen and still didn’t understand enough about the world to be confident that I properly understood what they stood for, concerned that I might have picked the wrong side. I occasionally check their job listings. But they need lawyers and legal experts and I’m trying to run their IT infrastructure. At some point, if I check enough times, maybe they’ll need the skills I have. I’d drop any job to work for them.

That’s fucking evil.
