This is a good move but we have gone full circle.

1. Vendors cover cost to offset the cost of cash handling.
2. Vendors then pass on costs but at extra on top, stop trying to push using eftpos or cheaper methods. Coincides with tap to pay even on debit cards.
3. Government mandates that vendors can charge whatever but it has to reflect their actual cost and be shown
4. Vendors don’t bother to negotiate and charge 1.21% quite often.
5. My eftpos (0.3% or less) is now getting a 1.2% mark up at one provider i go to, so I just use the credit card because they didn’t bother.

To my international friends, eftpos is an Australian bank card processing system but only works for bank cards not credit cards.

Yes. But remember if you hump your wagon in to a road, it will likely get humped from behind by the next wagon when you least expect it.

Nerd time. Hump yards or hump shunting is when they push a rail wagon down a hill and use gravity to push it.

Then there are a bunch of switches to go through to make it go into a particular road.

It then runs into whatever wagon was already there (and automatically couples together).

This impact is very bad for wagon mounted equipment and sensitive cargo.

I hate hump shunting. So I agree with this post. DO NOT HUMP.
