I was gonna say it on the last thread but, before we start appropriating this image as a political symbol as you’ve done here, should someone… maybe… source it slightly better than “Reddit”? There’s plenty of evidence that the school was blown up, but this specific image – conveniently well-framed and poignant – cropped up very quickly on a few random social media accounts, with no photographer attributed, and as far as I know hasn’t actually been verified at all.
seems like this is a crop of the actual image. https://felesteen.news/post/176924/إيران-ارتفاع-عدد-الطالبات-الشهيدات-بمدرسة-ميناب-إلى-153 shows a different crop that shows some to the left. i wonder what the aspect ratio of the original was…
School blown up?
This is the first I’ve seen, and it looks like a black square Photoshopped to cover up the kerb near a door? What’s this about a school being blown up?
I’ll be honest, I thought it was someone humorously censoring one of those fairy doors, pretending it’s a government cover-up of the supernatural.
There’s a bloody backpack behind the square. It was a little girl’s just that morning. Now it lays there motionless.
The photographer was likely a neighbor with a smartphone and enough interest in amateur photography to learn about composition
Good instinct to pump the brakes a bit.
I couldn’t find the source for this exact photo, but Aljazeera reports of plenty of bloody backpacks. So…
Fuck is no place safe from bloody politics.
Why don’t you try looking for a place safe from politics in an Iranian elementary school for girls?
Everything is politics and truth is the first victim of war.
No, not everything has to have politics shoved down it throat.
Especially places that aren’t US centric, nor allow politics. Fuck off.
your government appreciates your inattentiveness and lack of empathy for the suffering of your fellow man.
This is certainly a photo.
