      Yeah, that was the point I realised they were off the deep end.

      Also, we’re talking about a 50% increase in fuel, which is just one of the costs of running a vehicle. It’s not a catastrophic change by any means.

      Certainly not enough to justify shit like “pop up cycle lanes”.

          I’m assuming they’re talking about turning a traffic lane into a cycle lane by bolting a bunch of plastic shit to the road surface, and I just don’t think that helps anyone.

            ah true, depends how it’s done: the temporary one that was implemented on quay st in Auckland prior to the real one was quite decent, as they used propper concrete barriers.
