An open letter with 470 signatures is urging politicians to support road controlling authorities to make changes to enable travel without the use of a car.
I’m assuming they’re talking about turning a traffic lane into a cycle lane by bolting a bunch of plastic shit to the road surface, and I just don’t think that helps anyone.
ah true, depends how it’s done: the temporary one that was implemented on quay st in Auckland prior to the real one was quite decent, as they used propper concrete barriers.
only 470 signatures? I think they could’ve got a lot more
Oh wait never mind lol
Yeah, that was the point I realised they were off the deep end.
Also, we’re talking about a 50% increase in fuel, which is just one of the costs of running a vehicle. It’s not a catastrophic change by any means.
Certainly not enough to justify shit like “pop up cycle lanes”.
Never let a crisis go to waste (for advocacy for or pushing through nonsense).
what’s wrong with pop up cycle lanes?
