There’s not a huge disconnect, there’s a lack of services. If I was to catch public transport to work it would take ~60 minutes, it’s a 12 minute drive. It’s currently not a practical option.

Electric cars are not perfect, but are an improvement on internal combustion engines.
yes, within walking distance, within cycling distance, closer to good public transport
campaign for public transport, not for cars
Also, electric cars cause traffic congestion and fatalities just the same as petrol ones.
