There is no greater treachery than this failure to face up to the climate crisis. How can we now fend off despair?

There’s a Tesla driving around in Brisbane with the number plate ‘COAL FED’. The owner is clearly a keen fan of irony. :)

There is a huge disconnect in people’s brains,

when was the last time you read or heard the phrase ‘fossil fuel’? it’s now electricity versus petrol, but they are both the same thing, both contribute to global climate change

so stop buying cars, all cars are built with plastics ( which are made with fossil fuels ) and steel and all cars are powered by fossil fuels

don’t buy cars, walk, ride bikes, catch mass transit

and stop paving the world , it causes global climate change, run off that causes flooding, and kills the soil

      go plant a tree

There’s not a huge disconnect, there’s a lack of services. If I was to catch public transport to work it would take ~60 minutes, it’s a 12 minute drive. It’s currently not a practical option.

The huge disconnect is thinking electric cars are good/green

also, I suggest you choose to live closer to work,

Live closer to work? Than a 12 minute drive ? ? What?

Electric cars are not perfect, but are an improvement on internal combustion engines.

yes, within walking distance, within cycling distance, closer to good public transport

campaign for public transport, not for cars

Also, electric cars cause traffic congestion and fatalities just the same as petrol ones.

we could always build a nuclear power station, but the building takes energy and resources
